- Families who have children born with special needs are often at a loss as to what needs to be done to help in their development.
- A list of some of the scope for special needs as a service to be offered:
• conducts diagnostic screening and psychological and educational assessment of children, adolescents and adults
• designs and implements intervention programs/modules and conducts individual and group therapy for children, adolescents and adults with special needs
• designs and implements training and home management programs for parents
• provides consultation, counselling and referral services to parents and teachers
• monitors and trains teachers in the designing and implementation of intervention programs at all levels (early intervention, elementary, inclusive, pre-vocational and vocational programs).
- These services are especially for individuals with learning disabilities (such as Dyslexia and Dyscalculia), developmental disabilities (such as Autism Spectrum Disorder, Asperger Syndrome, Down’s Syndrome), and their families who may require support in caring for their loved ones.

1) Psychological Services
• Conducts psychological assessment of children, adolescents and adults with special needs
• Conducts individual and group therapy for persons with special needs
• Parenting techniques and coping skills for family members with special needs and behavioural issues
2) Psycho-Educational Programs• Conducts psycho-educational assessment and evaluation of children, adolescents and adults with special needs
• Early intervention programme (ages 3 to 6) – conducts intensive behaviour programme
• Primary, pre-vocational and vocational special needs training programme (ages 7 to adulthood)
• Social and communication skills programme for adolescents and adults with special needs
• School and home-based interventions
