After obtaining her Masters in Science (Guidance & Counselling), Maznah worked with Protect and Save (PS) the Children Association of Selangor and Kuala Lumpur for a number of years. As a Counsellor, Maznah contributed to achieve its mission of creating a safer environment for children; free from sexual abuse and exploitation.
Maznah offered both individual as well as tele-counselling and group therapy for teenagers and young adults in NGO and government home. A warm and passionate counsellor, Maznah strongly believes that play therapy (expressive therapy and sand tray therapy) aid a child to express its feeling better and accelerate the healing process.
Maznah next joined the Kuala Lumpur Hospital as one of its counsellors in the Psychology Counselling Unit. She provides assistance to patients; helping them to deal with stress, anger and other issues related to their illness. Maznah has been registered with the Malaysian Counsellor’s Board and is a licensed and practising counsellor. Besides being a member of the Malaysian Counselling Association, Maznah is also a member of Play Therapy International. Currently she serves as one of the counselors in Kangar hospital.
Maznah was a recipient of the UPM Vice Chancellor Award and was also the winner of Affin Finance Berhad Award while studying in UPM, for her academic and co- curriculum achievements. She is active in attending courses on parenting and providing support to parents as well towards development of the future generation.
